Position Title: Veteran Services Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Grants Administration
SUMMARY: Veteran Service Coordinator is a knowledgeable individual who knows their way around the VA system. They can assist veterans and their families in a number of ways. The Veteran Services Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day operations of the VetChange Program governance, training, computer lab operations, and program maintenance. The Veteran Services Coordinator will develop educational/recruitment and marketing materials. The Veteran Services Coordinator will complete presentations and conduct marketing and education about VetChange Program. The Veterans Services Coordinator is responsible for efficient managing of administrative day to day operations of project, recruitment and outreach. Veteran Services Coordinator prepares, schedules, instructs, and coordinates the necessary internal and external resources to fulfill capacity building, training requirements, and activities within the prescribed time frames and funding parameters to ensure project expectations are met. Responsibilities are linkage to VetChange program, recruitment, outreach and networking, basic administrative duties for grant coordination. Provides clients with appropriate referrals to internal/external resources and agencies; Aids in the creation of mitigation plans. Assist participants in enrolling in VetChange Program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Coordinator of Veterans Services in the development and implementation of veteran programs, services and the operations of the VetChange Program. Assist in establishing and maintaining effective communication with Veterans and the military community. Assist in maintaining website information for veterans. Provide administrative/clerical support to the center as well as maintain appropriate records. Ensures confidentiality of all records. Performs linkage to VetChange website for participants. Schedules appointments and follows-up on missed appointments. Completes routine reports, messages, and forms. Networks and recruits incoming community guests. Gather verifiable information as deemed necessary for grant performance. Ensure correct resources, direction and information are provided to community guests. Responsible for collaborating with other organizations to establish rapport and build relationships. Adhere to project goals and objectives by maintaining levels of productivity and positive use of time. Maintains effective working relationships. Performs other duties and reasonable requests as assigned.
DIMENSIONS of QUALIFICATIONS for POSITION
Presentation and public speaking skills; Language skills-ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations, grant proposals, reporting mechanisms. Provides effectively written information and data for website program updates. Ability to use digital photo camera and digital video equipment to produce quality testimonials and marketing materials.
Mathematical skills-Ability to calculate figures. Reasoning ability-ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished verbally and in writing. Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing.

MINIMUM SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Associates degree; Military Experience preferred; Experience working with military education programs, preferred Strong organizational skills; Strong PC skills with knowledge of MS Office; Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; Subject to sitting for long periods of time to perform job scope. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment and public speaking environment. Must be able to physically lift 20-30lbs.

AMOUNT of TRAVEL & SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1 Year CONTRACT Grant-Funded Position
Travel required to local and surrounding military bases and other Veteran Servicing Organizations on weekly basis
Contact with and travel to Veteran Treatment Court
Attendance at community events and health & wellness fairs
Computer Lab Management with designated hours of operations
Certification in relevant field
SALARY RANGE
$22,000 annually
HOURS PER DAY or WEEK
May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule on occasion.
6 hours per day on flex schedule with a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Will be required to complete time sheets and adhere to bi-weekly work schedule.
